Jack Zager
Director
Jack Zager is beyond thrilled to be working with Pacific Opera Project (POP) on Cinderella and all of its extremely talented singers, creative team and staff. POP credits include directing Hansel and Gretel last summer as well as assistant directing POP’s Die Fledermaus this past February. Jack is currently the Director of the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA) Opera Program. Jack is a recent graduate of UCLA where he studied Music History and Industry. At LACHSA Jack directed productions of Fiddler on the Roof, Die Fledermaus (@ LACHSA), and Carousel. At UCLA, Jack Directed HOOLIGAN Theatre Company’s Production of Sweeney Todd, Music Directed and Conducted The Color Box Production of In The Heights, Vocal Directed HOOLIGAN’s, A Chorus Line and performed as Nick Bottom in Hooligan’s Something Rotten. Jack was also the Co-Music Director of his A Capella group, Awaken. While a senior in high school at LACHSA, Jack co-wrote and staged (with opera students) the original musical, Afikoman: The Musical, which went on to win the Foundation of New American Musicals’ 2019 SHOWSEARCH competition. Jack is also a proud Teaching Artist at The Miracle Project, where he teaches neurodivergent students social skills through music, movement, and theater. In the fall, Jack will direct The Pirates of Penzance @ LACHSA.
